Dawn's Biography
Delegate Dawn M. Adams is a doctoral prepared nurse practitioner with more than thirty years of diverse clinical and administrative health care experience. Currently a small business owner, she is the former Director of the Office of Integrated Health for Virginia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and adjunct professor at Old Dominion University, where she taught Health Policy to doctoral students.
Her committee assignments include: Health,Welfare, and Institutions, Privileges and Elections, . Demonstrating effective leadership and working across the aisle, she successfully passed 57% of introduced legislation in 2019, and is the Chief Co-Patron of 20 bills introduced into law in just two years.
Dawn’s legislative focus is Healthcare, particularly around issues affecting elderly and vulnerable populations, protecting and preserving the Environment, quality affordable Education and creating Infrastructure toward building healthier communities
through better policy. This is her first re-election campaign.
